First to do up a house and then to start a small business possibly a brewery or some other madcap venture. I have had lots of exp. in building but obviously trying to do this in france is going to be much harder! I am looking for a cheap project( 75000euros) and reckon i may get a small place with some land. If any one can think of a suitable place-please mail me. Oh and about the chickens-i agree entirely-got six Lohman browns at the bottom of my small garden in Staveley. IMHO the biggest problems associated with meat eating are the damage that an exponentially expanding population incurs on the environment simply to retain a market of traditional meats (fowl, sheep, cattle etc.) OR the inhumane conditions that result in the attempted reversal of environmental damage, such as the intensive methods of cattle farming employed in developed Asian countries and America, and the atrocious conditions fowl are kept in. Personally, I believe that logic is deified when people prop up the pharmaceutical industry by requiring dietary supplements when they could simply enjoy a balanced diet! Oh, and soy farming actually does as much longterm damage to the environment as cattle- betcha didn't know that!!! The best bet (again IMHO) is to support a meat industry that utilises creatures endemic to your region- for example, I am in Australia, and the only meat I generally eat is kangaroo- there are a number of reasons for this, which I won't go into, as this quick thought has kinda turned into a rant... When we were omnivores - we took turns getting sick (constantly) - Thank goodness those days are over - Been cold/flu free for 5 years now.... Not to mention the energy I have since eliminating milk/dairy from my diet - they were poisioning me (and putting on lots of pounds too)..... Between the horrors at factory farms and cruelties in slaughterhouses..... I can't see how anyone can support buying animal "foods". Not a pleasant subject.....
